Investigators will this morning return to the scene of a fire that's destroyed a West Auckland home

The blaze in the suburb of Massey sent plumes of smoke across the area last night.

Emergency services were called to the Red Hills Road fire shortly before 8.30pm, before it was extinguished around 10.30.

Armed police were seen in attendance at the scene last night, with patched gang members also at the cordon.
