Aussie racing driver Cameron Waters has pipped the Kiwis to pole position for the first race of the weekend at the Taupo Supercars

Aussie racing driver Cameron Waters has pipped the Kiwis to pole position for the first race of the weekend at the Taupo Supercars

Provisional pole-sitter Matt Payne will only start from eighth place on the grid after Waters topped the timesheets in the Top Ten Shootout... by just over half a second from fellow Aussie Will Brown... in tricky, wet conditions.

Best of the New Zealanders was Andre Heimgartner, who qualified third... rookie Ryan Wood was fifth.
