    Hopes pay disputes between Health New Zealand and workers can be settled before planned strike action


    Resident Doctors will strike for 25 hours on May 7, after hundreds of registrars and GPs are disgruntled over what they've been offered.

    The Resident Doctors' Association's Deborah Powell says strikes are a last resort.

    She says they're going to mediation next week, and remain hopeful.
