Katy Perry has revealed her own mother was fooled by an AI image of her at the 2024 Meta Gala

The 39-year-old pop star didn't attend this year's fashion extravaganza in New York City on Monday (06.05.24), but someone used artificial intelligence to create a fake image to show her at the prestigious event

In a text exchange shared on Instagram, her mother Mary Perry wrote: "Ha Feather! Didn't know you went to the Met.

"What a gorgeous gown. You look like the Rose Parade, you are your own float lol."

Katy replied: "Lol mom the AI got you too, BEWARE!"

The 'Roar' hitmaker captioned the post: "Couldn't make it to the MET, had to work."

Alongside the exchange, Katy also shared a clip of herself in the recording studio, proving why she was too busy to attend.

Katy has stole the show at the star studded event in previous years, and back in 2022 she revealed her outlook when it comes to experimenting with her outfits.

She told People: "At the Met Gala, especially, I really lean into the theme and have fun with it."

And some of her wildest outfits will be saved for her and partner Orlando Bloom's daughter Daisy Dove, three, to wear in the future.

Speaking to the outlet in the past, she said: "I kind of already have a vault. I'm saving things for her.

"I don't know where she's going to be able to wear all these crazy outfits, but I'm saving them for her."

Earlier this year, Katy revealed that she's prioritising her family life over her music career.

The chart-topping star told 'Good Morning America': "I haven't put any new material out since my darling Daisy.

"I think that I'm writing a lot and have written a lot from a place of love, because I'm feeling so much of it - so much unconditional love, that love you never knew existed."

Katy also urged her fans to remain patient with her.

The singer - who released her last album, 'Smile', back in 2020 - said: "I'm always writing, I have been, but I think what's really important to me is to be celebrating the world that I've got to build with all of these wonderful songs and to be responsible for a life for a three year old.

"I will be back, but let me get this right."
