A nurse has been found to have sexually exploited a patient in their care, while they were sleeping in hospital

The patient confronted the nurse in the presence of other staff, and a formally reported to Police and the hospital the next day.

They complained the hospital didn't contact them or apologise, until after a further complaint two years later.

Deputy Health and Disability Commissioner Dr Vanessa Caldwell has referred the nurse to the Director of Proceedings.
