Blues coach commending improved second half showing after a dominant 41-13 win over Highlanders

Blues coach Vern Cotter is commending their improved second half showing after a dominant 41-13 win over the Highlanders helped them retake the competition lead in Super Rugby

After leading 21-13 at the break - the home side scored 26 unanswered points in the second spell to cruise to a comfortable win.

Cotter says - after a slow start - the Blues players took responsibility in the second half.

Meanwhile - the Force all but ended the Waratahs' finals hopes with a 27-7 win in Perth.

Earlier - a penalty try in the final minute gave the Brumbies a 31-24 win over the Crusaders in Canberra.
