The Parramatta Eels are defending the sacking of Brad Arthur

The Parramatta Eels are defending the sacking of Brad Arthur

Arthur was sacked as head coach late yesterday, when it also emerged the Eels had been trying to woo Wayne Bennett for three weeks.

Bennett has today signed with South Sydney from 2025.

Club CEO Jim Sarantinos is conceding the time wasn't ideal - as it's Arthur's 50th birthday today.
