Dunedin Police will engage with those who deal with vulnerable youth; after a 16 year old died from a single stab wound

A 13-year-old's been charged with murder over the altercation at the bus hub on Thursday afternoon.

Police have been aware of anti-social behaviour at the hub for some time.

Otago Coastal Area Commander, Inspector Marty Gray says they weren't there at the time of the incident, but had been that day.

He says they're working closely with schools and youth engagement teams.

He says they're working with Oranga Tamariki and others who can intervene with vulnerable individuals and their whanau.
