New Zealand First is vowing to protect free speech - with a new Members' Bill

It says it's to ensure no organisation or person acting within the law, is unreasonably denied use of a public venue for an organised event, because of their views.
Deputy Prime Minister Winston Peters says such premises are built with rate- or taxpayer money for everyone, even people we disagree with.
The New Zealand First leader referenced an event by former politician Don Brash was recently shut down.
Peters says when we have to defend the right for people to express themselves, things have reached a parlous state.
