New moves in Dunedin to tackle safety issues at the city's bus hub

New moves in Dunedin to tackle safety issues at the city's bus hub

A 16-year-old was fatally stabbed at the Great King Street facility last Thursday - and a 13-year-old's appeared in court charged with murder.

The city and regional councils are joining forces with Police to create a new multi-agency group.

Mayor Jules Radich says they'll together work to change the culture and improve overall safety -- and develop short, medium, and long-term strategies.

He says it's clear the bus hub isn't safe -- and something needs to be done.

Increased security and Police at the facility continues.
