Wellington City Council's rolling out a new high-tech method for enforcing illegal car parking

A fleet of hybrid cars fixed with number plate reading cameras will soon take to the streets.

Wellington City Council Chief Operating Officer James Roberts says they receive more than one thousand complaints about dodgy parking every month.
