Tasman locals are able to have their say on how pet cats are managed in the district
26 July 2024
Consultation on the District Council's cat management bylaw opens today.
Residents will be asked if they support cats to be registered, microchipped, and desexed.
Community policy advisor Cat Budai says the bylaw's been in the works for a couple of years - but has more support now.
She says it's been driven by the community - but is also backed by vets and the SPCA.
Consultation ends next month.
