Scottie Scheffler's the world golf number one for a reason

The American has rallied from four shots off the lead in the final round to win by one shot after carding an course record equalling nine-under par 62.

Scheffler says his achievement sunk in as the Star Spangled Banner was played at Le Golf National.

Tommy Fleetwood was a shot back in silver, with Hideki Matsuyama claiming bronze a further stroke back.

Spaniard Jon Rahm led by four shots with nine holes to play, but carded four bogeys and a double bogey to finish in a share of fifth at 15-under par.

Of the New Zealanders, Ryan Fox finished tied for 35th, and Daniel Hillier 55th.
