Christopher Luxon says the partial privatisation of Kiwibank isn't on the agenda ... right now

Christopher Luxon says the partial privatisation of Kiwibank isn't on the agenda ... right now

Finance Minister Nicola Willis has hinted at opening the bank up to private investment, while maintaining majority control.

She's also suggested it could be a "disruptor" to the large Australian-owned banks.

The Prime Minister says first things first, he wants to meet with bank bosses, to discuss whether the banking market is competitive and fair.

He's concerned about rural banking customers are being charged higher interest rates, and he wants to look at bank profitability and margins compared to other parts of the world.
