Olympic kayaking champion Finn Butcher insists he's far from his physical peak heading into the next Canoe Slalom World Cup event in Italy overnight

Olympic kayaking champion Finn Butcher insists he's far from his physical peak heading into the next Canoe Slalom World Cup event in Italy overnight

It will be the 26-year-old's first competition since his Parisian triumph more than a month ago.

Butcher admits he's had limited training since the games, but a post-Olympic break was always in the pipeline.

Butcher will compete in the kayak slalom heats starting at 1am, with the kayak cross taking place on Sunday.
