Cure Kids has identified areas of need when combatting children's health issues

Cure Kids has identified areas of need when combatting children's health issues

Its State of Child Health report's reveals respiratory disease in infants has increased by 44-percent over the last two decades.

Dental health and mental health conditions have also increased, while skin infections and rheumatic heart disease have only slightly reduced.

Cure Kids Chair of Child Health Research Stuart Dalziel says the main priority is these areas of need.

He says if we focus on those five conditions and get them right, then we can get health right for all of New Zealand's children.
