An SOS has gone out to the NRL as the Cowboys struggle to secure a flight to Sydney for their sudden-death finals clash on Friday night

Tickets on the only two non-stop flights out of Townsville were quickly snapped up by North Queensland fans in the wake of last weekend's win over the Knights.

With the club or NRL not putting any tickets on hold - it's left a charter flight as the only potential option.

Cowboys boss Michael Luck has told the Courier Mail they are working with the NRL on a solution.

The NRL stepped in for Newcastle last weekend - when the last-minute finals scheduling had the Knights facing a long trip to Townsville with less than a week turnaround.
