Concerns about the reduction in choice of access to primary birthing facilities in central Auckland

Concerns about the reduction in choice of access to primary birthing facilities in central Auckland

Parnell's Birthcare will close its three primary birthing suites at the end of the year - after consistently low monthly bookings.

The wider centre will keep operating for postnatal care.

College of Midwives Chief Executive Alison Eddy says Auckland Hospital will become the only real option in the area.

Health New Zealand says it is prepared for the closure.
