Hawkes Bay orchards are rallying behind Tongan seasonal workers, caught up in a serious bus crash between Rotorua and Taupo yesterday

Hawkes Bay orchards are rallying behind Tongan seasonal workers, caught up in a serious bus crash between Rotorua and Taupo yesterday

The 30 had just landed in New Zealand - and their bus rolled en route to the Mr Apple orchard.

Eleven people were injured -- three seriously.

Mr Apple spokesman, Gary Jones, told RNZ four workers remain in hospital, and the rest are in Hawke's Bay.

He says counsellors and Pacific Health are on site this morning.

Hawke's Bay Fruit Growers Association's Callum Ross says they're ready to support the workers in every possible way.
