New Zealand citizen departures continue in record numbers

New Zealand citizen departures continue in record numbers

Stats NZ data for the year to September, shows a net migration loss of 54-thousand-700 citizens, surpassing August figures.

Total net migration dropped to almost 45-thousand, and ASB says it's at its lowest since January 2023.

Senior economist Mark Smith says the figures reflect New Zealand's place compared to the rest of the world.

He says we could possibly even see net outflows next year.
