Patricia Burt's skeleton was found in remote bush near a walkway in Titahi Bay, with the Coroner saying while he understands why the family have questions, it was possible for Burt to end up there on her own.

He would not speculate on whether her death was self-inflicted.

Burt's daughter says despite the ruling, she believes her mother couldn't have gone there herself and thinks she was taken to the site.

She says there are still many unanswered questions.
