The 10 heroes of the 2021 Dunedin supermarket stabbings, are being acknowledged in this year's Bravery Awards

The 10 heroes of the 2021 Dunedin supermarket stabbings, are being acknowledged in this year's Bravery Awards

Jorge Fuenzalida is one of two involved to be awarded The New Zealand Bravery Star.

He came to the aid of an under-attack staff member, and received life-threatening injuries while trying to protect others from the man responsible.

Fuenzalida's wife, Vanessa Miller-Andrews has also been recognised.

She was stabbed while trying to help him.

Fuenzalida says both are grateful for the honour, as the after-effects of the attacks still haunt them.
