World Rugby chair Brett Robinson has issued an open letter to the sport's stakeholders and fans ahead of what he calls a monumental year of rugby

Robinson has outlined the opportunities for rugby this year, led by the women's World Cup in England which is poised to break attendance records.

He says the sport must continue to push boundaries and ensure rugby is not only an exceptional spectacle but a safe and welcoming environment.

Robinson - who was voted to the position in November - says rugby is facing similar headwinds to all sports, but has urged a focus on change and innovation to meet the challenges.
