Christchurch's Mayor is looking to the year ahead, in which he faces a battle for re-election

Christchurch's Mayor is looking to the year ahead, in which he faces a battle for re-election

Local Government elections will take place in October.

City Councillor Sara Templeton's already thrown her hat in the ring to run for Mayor of the garden city.

But, current Mayor Phil Mauger hasn't yet committed to seeking out a second term.

He says he's taking the summer break to consider whether he'll run again for the top job.

Mauger says he's going to clear his head, but will make the call soon. 12-18-24 1701
