All seven of Rotorua's emergency housing motels will stay open for now - but they must be shut down by the end of the year

All seven of Rotorua's emergency housing motels will stay open for now - but they must be shut down by the end of the year

The Local Democracy Reporting service reports that Independent Commissioner David Hill has imposed staggered exit dates which will gradually see them close.

The Apollo Hotel will be first, ceasing operations by the end of March.

Two more will close in June and another will close down at the end of July.

Three motels, the Ascot on Fenton Motel, the Lake Rotorua Motel and the RotoVegas Motel will stay open until December 15.
