A 32-year-old man will appear in court this morning facing multiple charges after a standoff with armed police lasting almost five hours, at an Auckland property

The man was sought by police and located at a house on Mulroy Place in Pinehill about 4pm yesterday.

A police spokesperson says the person refused to co-operate.

After prolonged efforts to engage, police, including the Armed Offenders Squad, entered the property about 9.30pm and the man was arrested.
