Sarah Michelle Gellar's son had to be rushed to hospital after suffering an "accident" at school

The 47-year-old actress has Charlotte, 15, and 12-year-old Rocky with her husband Freddie Prinze Jr., and revealed that she had recently received a call that led to her youngest going to the emergency room for stitches

She told People: "The first phone call from school.

"[Rocky] needed to go to the ER. He had an accident and needed stitches in his head, so really good time. It's been a fun week. Fires and stitches and floods, and I feel like the locusts are next. It's going to be great."

The 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' star was getting ready to make an appearance at the 12th Annual Make-Up Artists and Hairstylists Guild Awards in Los Angeles on Saturday (15.02.25) after the incident unfolded, and Rocky enquired where she was going when she left the house as he was making his recovery.

She added: "He said, 'Where are you going?' I said, 'Supermarket...'"

Meanwhile, the Hollywood star is currently working on a reboot of the cult TV series that made her famous in the 1990s, and admitted it is "nerve-wracking" because she wants to do it justice for the fans.

She said: "[It's] nerve-wracking because you have to do it right.

"I wish there was a better word than overwhelming. It's heartwarming and exciting and also incredibly nerve-wracking at the same time."

But Sarah still thinks the fans of the original 'Buffy' will be "pretty impressed" because she has such a good team in place.

She said: "I think we have this team in place that is legendary, from Chloé Zhao to the Zucks [Nora and Lilla Zuckerman], to Gail Berman. And I think people are going to be pretty impressed."
