JoJo Siwa has insisted that she is not suffering from "burnout" following her years of child stardom

The 21-year-old star shot to fame on 'Dance Moms' at the age of nine before becoming a regular fixture on Nickelodeon and now that she has branched out into pop music, she has insisted that she is "just getting started" with her career

She told E! News: "I'm in a phase where I think a lot of people would think I'm burnt out, but I'm feel like I'm just getting started,.

"I feel like I'm right where I was at age, like, 15 again, and I feel re-inspired. I'm excited for new music. I'm excited for more live performances. I'm just like, the fire's relit."

The 'Guilty Pleasure' hitmaker is "so excited" for what she has got planned for the future, and finally feels as if she is "in control" of the things that she can do as a performer.

She said: "I have been so excited.

"I finally, after nine years, am in sole control of my voice. And I've waited a long time for this one. Even this last year in 2024, I wasn't in full control, and now I am, and it's what I want, and it's how I want, and it's stuff that is actually genuine to me."

Despite her self-confidence about her career in the present day, JoJo admitted that it hasn't always been "easy" to cultivate a more adult image for herself.

She told 'Entertainment Tonight': "It's been something that we've tried to figure out the best way to navigate.

"I do have such a young fan base, and I do have a lot of kids that look at JoJo Siwa and still follow my music from years ago. However, you know, I'm not the same that I was when I was 14.

"That can live on and people can know that human. But this now is 20-year-old, 21-year-old, here for a good time [JoJo]. Let's be honest, let's be real. Let's make some art."
