New Zealand is out of recession, but the recovery could be less of a sprint, and more of a crawl

New Zealand is out of recession, but the recovery could be less of a sprint, and more of a crawl

GDP's risen by 0.7 percent in the December quarter.

But Kiwibank economist Sabrina Delgado says the economy was still 1.1 percent smaller than the same period, the previous year.

The construction and mining sectors both shrank by more than 10-percent during the year.

She says the growth we've been seeing, is still off a very low base.
