Queenstown Lakes District Council's reassuring the community, over the effectiveness of the Shotover Wastewater Plant

Queenstown Lakes District Council's reassuring the community, over the effectiveness of the Shotover Wastewater Plant

The Otago Regional Council's taken the Queenstown council to the Environment Court, relating to issues around the discharge of contaminants at the plant.

It's allocated 77.5 million dollars to develop a new strategy for the plant in its Long Term Plan.

Property and Infrastructure General Manager, Tony Avery says it continues to produce highly treated water, at the end of multiple processes - which are working well.

He says the plant's performance is monitored daily.
