All Whites coach Darren Bazeley has applauded his team's second half during their 3-nil win over New Caledonia in the Oceania football World Cup qualifying final at Eden Park

The match was scoreless at halftime, before New Zealand struck three times to seal a tournament berth for a third time with the competition expanding from 32 to 48 teams.

Bazeley opted to bring on Francis de Vries and Eli Just for Matt Garbett and Callum McCowatt at the break.

He says those changes helped generate a breakthrough.
