A Parole Board has released 77-year-old serial inmate, Dean Wickliffe from prison this afternoon

A Parole Board has released 77-year-old serial inmate, Dean Wickliffe from prison this afternoon

Wickcliffe went on hunger strike two weeks ago in Spring Hill Corrections Facility - after a fracas as he was admitted for parole breaches.

He was transferred to Hospital, saying he was prepared to die fighting for release.

His legal team says it's a great relief he's out again.

Wickliffe has spent nearly four decades behind bars for manslaughter - and escaped Paremoremo maximum security prison, in 1976 and 1991.
