New Zealand golfing great Dame Lydia Ko has made a poor start to the first major of the year, the Chevron Championship in Texas

Starting on the back nine at Carlton Woods, Ko has carded three bogeys to be three over after nine holes - in a tie for 103rd, a whopping 10 shots off the lead.

Ryan Fox and partner Garrick Higgo are four-under through 10 holes in their opening round at the Pairs showdown in New Orleans.

That puts them in a tie for 56th - again, 10 shots behind the leaders.
