    An investigation's underway after a serious crash near Levin that left a person critically injured last night


    Police had been seeking a Holden Captiva due to a number of driving complaints prior to the crash and it failed to stop for an officer.

    The car collided with a van on State Highway 57, near the intersection of Kimberley and Arapaepae South Roads before 7.30pm.

    Inspector Ashley Gurney says the Serious Crash unit are investigating whether alcohol was involved.

    Police would like to hear from anyone with dashcam footage, or who may have witnessed the Holden Captiva driving south through Levin prior to the crash.
