    Search teams are bringing out a specialised radio device - in the hunt for tramper Connor Purvis, who's been missing for six days in the Southern Alps


    The 20 year old didn't return from a hike on December 30 - and anyone on Mount Huxley around that time should contact police.

    Searchers are focused on Mount Huxley, the Huxley River South Branch and upper Ahuriri River.

    They're using the Recco device, which can detect items like head torches and cellphones.
