| | PC World - 15 Nov (PC World)As a dedicated member of both the triple-monitor club and the standing desk club (I’m very conflicted at the annual softball game), a solid VESA-compatible monitor arm is something I find essential. That goes double if you have a big, oversized monitor, like this one I just highlighted on sale. Today Huanuo is offering one that can hold up to 40 pounds (18 kilograms) for $55.
The arm comes from Huanuo, the discount comes from Amazon. I can’t say I’ve used this particular model of reinforced arm myself, but all three of my gas-spring arms are similar, less heavy-duty designs from the same brand. And after five years on my desk, all three of them are rock steady. Normally $110, a SlickDeals forum poster found that there’s a massive 50 percent discount going on right now. That brings it down to $54.99, though keep in mind that you won’t see it until you start your checkout process at Amazon. As of the publishing of this post, it’s still live.
Amazon
This arm uses a standard 75x75mm/100x100mm VESA mount, the one that’s on the back of basically every new monitor, with three points of 360-degree rotation along the arm and a 50-degree tilt and 90-degree swivel on the head and a height from 10.2 to 29.1 inches (25.9-73.9cm) off the desk surface. Basically, you can make your screen sit wherever you want. A steel-reinforced, double-clamp mechanism keeps it anchored on your desk, with support for a surface up to 3.5 inches (8.9cm) thick.
I don’t know how long the discount will apply, so be sure to check that final price in your cart before you press the buy button. If this isn’t quite what you’re looking for, then check out PCWorld’s roundup of the best monitor arms on the market.
