    Marine Weather Situation and Forecast issued at 2030hrs Monday 17-Jun-2024 by MetService

    Situation:
    A broad, complex low lies slow-moving over the Tasman Sea, while a second, smaller low moves off the North Island and towards the Chatham Islands. A ridge of high pressure builds to the southeast of the South Island from later on Tuesday. The broad low pressure system over the Tasman Sea slowly moves southwards, as a ridge southeast of New Zealand moves slowly east. East to northeast flow covers much of the country.

    Valid to 8 pm Monday for Manukau and Waitemata Harbours, Hauraki Gulf and Bream Head to Cape Colville.

    For Manukau Harbour:
    Monday: Variable 5 knots. Easterly 10 knots developing for a time late evening. Sea slight. Partly cloudy. Southwest swell 1.5 metres, easing to 1 metre.
    Tuesday: Variable 5 knots, becoming easterly 10 knots late morning. Sea slight. Possible morning fog, then mainly fine. Westerly swell 1 metre.
    Wednesday: Easterly 15 knots. Partly cloudy. Westerly swell 1 metre easing to half a metre.
    Thursday: Easterly 15 knots, easing to 10 knots. Fine. Westerly swell half a metre.
    Friday: Easterly 10 knots. Fine. Westerly swell half a metre.

    For Waitemata Harbour:
    Monday: Westerly 10 knots, easing to variable 5 knots early evening. Easterly 10 knots developing for a time late evening. Sea slight. Partly cloudy.
    Tuesday: Variable 5 knots. Easterly 10 knots developing in the morning. Sea slight. Possible morning fog, then mainly fine.
    Wednesday: Easterly 10 knots rising to 15 knots for a time in the afternoon. Cloud clearing later.
    Thursday: Easterly 20 knots, easing to 15 knots late. Partly cloudy.
    Friday: Easterly 15 knots. Fine.

    For Hauraki Gulf:
    Monday: Variable 5 knots. Easterly 10 knots developing for a time late evening. Sea slight. Partly cloudy. Chance of a few evening showers. Northerly swell half a metre or less.
    Tuesday: Variable 5 knots. Southeast 10 knots developing in the morning, rising to easterly 15 knots in the afternoon. Easterly rising to 20 knots in the evening. Sea becoming moderate. Showers possible before dawn, otherwise mainly fine. Northerly swell half a metre.
    Wednesday: Easterly 20 knots, rising to 25 knots in the morning. A few showers, clearing. Northerly swell half a metre dying out.
    Thursday: Easterly 25 knots, easing to 15 knots late. Partly cloudy.
    Friday: Easterly 15 knots. Fine.

    For Bream Head to Cape Colville:
    Monday: Northwest 10 knots, easing to variable 5 knots early evening. Easterly 10 knots developing for a time late evening. Sea slight. Partly cloudy. Poor visibility in evening showers. Northerly swell 2 metres, easing to 1 metre.
    Tuesday: Variable 5 knots. Southeast 10 knots developing in the morning, rising to easterly 15 knots in the afternoon. Easterly rising to 20 knots in the evening. Sea becoming moderate. Partly cloudy with chance of a shower before dawn and again in the evening. Otherwise mainly fine. Northerly swell 1 metre, easing to half a metre.
    Wednesday: Easterly 20 knots, rising to 25 knots in the morning. Showers, easing later. Northerly swell half a metre.
    Thursday: Easterly 25 knots, easing to 15 knots late. A few showers, clearing. Northeast swell half a metre.
    Friday: Easterly 15 knots. Partly cloudy. Easterly swell half a metre, rising to 1 metre.
