A call to extend the cut-off time for new mothers to seek support for post-natal depression

There's a three-month wait for Canterbury-based Post-Natal Adjustment Programme - run through Plunket and funded by Canterbury DHB.
Perinatal Wellbeing Canterbury refers women to the programme.
Operations Co-ordinator Erin Manning says many women with post-natal depression have made it through the newborn stage.
She says while the DHB needs to have an age limit - one year is too early.
Manning says many mums only get help once the baby is between nine and 15 months.
These women are then met with a waiting list when they do finally seek help.
