New flights to Northland give certainty the region will be connected

Temporary Air New Zealand direct flights between Wellington and Kerikeri began today.

Northland Inc's Destination manager Tania Burt says the flights are good news for businesses.

She says some think they will see a direct impact.

For other businesses the flights bring hope of access to the rest of the country.

She says companies are working to keep Northland open.
