Older New Zealanders are bearing the brunt of covid
13 June 2022
When Omicron was at its peak in late February, 60 percent of cases were aged between 10 and 30, with just 10 percent over 50.
Now, over-50s make up 34 percent of daily case numbers, with those over 80 climbing steadily.
Aged Concern NZ Chief Executive Karen Billings-Jensen says this is a good reminder to get the vaccine ... including the second booster and a flu shot
Today the Ministry of Health is reporting four thousand 413 new community covid cases, with 352 people in hospital and five deaths.
