Investigations will continue this weekend into the fatal Police shooting near the Waikato town of Matamata

A man was shot on Thursday afternoon, after presenting a firearm and fleeing in a stolen vehicle.

Multiple scene examinations are underway and Police will increase their presence in the area.

Matamata-Piako mayor Adrienne Wilcock says she's sure people will work together to get through this.
