Gisborne to Wairarapa Fine apart from cloudy periods and isolated showers about the Tararua District.
Nelson, Marlborough and Canterbury Fine at first. Cloud increasing and rain spreading east this evening, possibly heavy about Nelson and Marlborough ranges.
Buller to Fiordland Showers, turning to rain in Fiordland this morning and elsewhere in the afternoon, heavy and possibly thundery from evening.
Otago and Southland Scattered rain, becoming widespread this afternoon, possibly heavy.
