    north island

    Tararua Forest Park and Egmont National Park
    Fine today. Cloudy periods tomorrow with patchy drizzle morning and night.

    Remaining mountain parks
    Mainly fine. Some cloud at low elevations morning and night with patchy drizzle

    Strong westerlies, gale about the Tararua Range, easing tonight but remaining
    strong about the Tararua Range.

    Well above above 4000 metres.

    south island

    Kahurangi National Park, Nelson Lakes National Park and the Kaikoura Ranges
    Mainly fine. Some cloud at low elevations morning and night.

    The Southern Alps
    Cloudy today with remaining showers clearing late this afternoon. Fine tomorrow.

    Cloudy with periods of drizzle.

    Strong westerlies, gale in Fiordland. Turning northwest tomorrow and rising to
    severe gale in exposed places in Fiordland.

    Well above 4000 metres in the north, around 3000 metres in Fiordland. Rising
    above 4000 metres everywhere this evening.
