    Raukumara to Kaweka ranges, also Egmont and Tongariro National Parks
    Rain developing this morning, turning to showers from evening. Heavy and
    possibly thundery falls.

    Ruahine and Tararua ranges
    Cloud increasing, and occasional rain from afternoon.

    Winds
    Northerlies rising to gale this morning, turning lighter westerly in the evening.

    FREEZING LEVEL
    About 2000 metres.


    south island



    Kaikoura ranges
    Periods of rain, possibly heavy, and snow lowering to about 1300 metres in the
    evening.

    Kahurangi and Nelson Lakes National Parks
    Rain, with heavy and possibly thundery falls, easing this evening. Snow above
    1300 metres.

    The Southern Alps
    Periods of rain, heavy and possibly thundery this morning. Snow above 1200
    metres.

    Fiordland
    Rain easing to isolated showers this morning.

    Winds
    Northerlies easing this morning.

    FREEZING LEVEL
    About 1600 metres.
