    Raukumara to Kaweka Forest Parks
    Areas of cloud in the west, clearing and becoming fine this afternoon.

    Remaining areas
    Mostly cloudy, with occasional showers.

    WINDS
    Severe gale southwesterly, easing towards the evening.

    FREEZING LEVEL
    About 3000 metres in the north, sloping to 2400 metres in the south.


    south island


    Fine about and east of Mt Richmond Forest Park. Occasional showers elsewhere, with snow to 800 metres about Mt Aspiring and Fiordland.

    WINDS
    Severe gale southwesterlies, easing in the north tonight.

    FREEZING LEVEL
    2500 metres, but 1100 metres about Mt Aspiring and Fiordland. Rising to 1700 metres in the south.
