Generally fine, but areas of morning cloud or fog. Cloud increasing from Taranaki southwards this evening, with the odd shower.
Bay of Plenty, Gisborne and Hawke's Bay
Partly cloudy with isolated showers, especially about the ranges, clearing this afternoon and becoming fine.
Horowhenua to Wellington and Wairarapa, also Nelson and Marlborough
Mainly fine, but cloud increasing this evening with the chance of a shower.
Canterbury, Otago and Southland
Rain spreading north throughout the day. Fine breaks developing from Otago southwards during the afternoon.
Buller to Fiordland
Occasional rain, possibly heavy.
Chatham Islands
Fine spells.
