Horowhenua to Wellington
Mostly cloudy with patchy drizzle this morning, but long fine spells in the afternoon.
Buller to Westland
Rain spreading north this morning, possibly heavy and thundery, easing to isolated showers this afternoon.
Nelson, Marlborough and Canterbury
Scattered rain developing this morning, clearing this afternoon or evening apart from the odd shower inland.
Otago, Southland and Fiordland
Rain, with possible early thunderstorms about Fiordland and Stewart Island, easing to showers this morning then clearing in the afternoon, but a few showers returning to southern Fiordland and Stewart Island at night.
