Dairy farmers are remaining optimistic, despite some road bumps

Dairy farmers are remaining optimistic, despite some road bumps

    29 June 2025
DairyNZ is forecasting the breakeven milk price to rise 27 cents, to 8-dollars-68 per kilogram of milk solid for the 2025/26 season.

It says this is driven partly by higher tax obligations, global volatility, and increased input costs.

But Chair Tracy Brown, says the outlook is still somewhat positive.

She says dairy exports have increased significantly - offset by the cost of the production.
