Another dose of good news could be on the cards for mortgage holders before Christmas

Another dose of good news could be on the cards for mortgage holders before Christmas

    6 September 2024
NZIER has released its Quarterly Predictions - forecasting another cut to the Official Cash Rate again next month.

But they're picking a pause in November - before resuming measured easing in February.

Principal Economist Christina Leung says while it's a cautious approach -- there's scope to cut by 50 basis points later on if needed.

She says that's better than going too aggressively at the start and having to reverse and hike the OCR again if inflation was to reignite.
