Auckland Council has exceeded its saving goals - and put a record amount into assets

Auckland Council has exceeded its saving goals - and put a record amount into assets

    27 September 2024
Its annual operating costs were 940 million dollars above budget, mostly caused by 685 million dollars for Council buyouts of storm damaged homes.

But the council saved 60.2 million dollars from that same budget, 10 million higher than its goal.

It's pumped 3.2 billion dollars into water, transport and facilities.

The Council's net debt has been driven down 70 million dollars - and both its credit agencies give it a tick for a stable rating.
