Maketu Pies has bounced back from the brink of closure

The more than 40-year-old pie business went into voluntary solvent liquidation in late 2024 - but was rescued two weeks later by catering company Montana group.
Maketu Pies general manager Craig Williams says he's confident in the company's future.
He says New Zealand loves pies - consuming about 80 million of them a year - and people are excited to see the brand back.
