    ???1;Falling interest rates are yet to flow through to the housing market

    16 September 2025
    New data from the Real Estate Institute show the market remains sluggish.

    The Institute's house price index - used by the Reserve Bank to track the housing market has increased 0.4 percent in the past year.

    But the national median house price has dropped 0.5 percent, driven by falling prices in Auckland.

    House sales are down 3.7 percent.
